Letter from the President, Nancy Dershaw
We have some exciting news to share regarding our Board. We’ve made some invigorating changes. I have the honor
to be the President of NEXT GENERATIONS.Randi Posner, our past President, has taken on the role of Chair of
EducationalOutreach/Programming (a true passion of hers). My sincere gratitude goes to Randifor all of her hard
work as President of NEXT GENERATIONS. Nadine Berkowitz and Jennifer Blumenthal also deserve recognition
for their work as board members. It’s also our pleasure to welcome Gail Weinbrum to our Board of Directors. Gail
has been very active within NEXT GENERATIONS, and will be an extraordinaryasset to the organization.
I pledge to continue the mission and strategic initiatives of NEXT GENERATIONS with sincere humility. It has always
been our goal to engage and inspire the NEXT GENERATIONS family, which you are all part of, to spread the message
that must keep the memories of the Holocaust alive. NEXT GENERATIONS was founded by children and grandchildren
of Holocaust Survivors, and was later joined by others who share in the same passion to support and remember the
Survivors, the authentic voices of the Holocaust.
Our gratitude goes to our new Board and dedicated volunteers. They will continue to support NEXT GENERATIONS’ commitment to educate future generations about the negative ramifications of hatred and bigotry. Moreover, we will continue to assist Holocaust Survivors in need, as well as provide outreach support to child survivors and second and third generation survivors who suffer from inherited trauma. With your commitment, we will be able to fulfill our mission.

We welcome our new Board

The Nancy Dershaw Grant for Holocaust Survivors in Need
The Nancy Dershaw Grant for Holocaust Survivors provides emergency aid to Holocaust Survivors with needs. NEXT GENERATIONS partners with organizations that provide direct services to Survivors.
Grant allocations to these organizations ensure that professional assessment of the Survivor’s needs and the direct care they receive are provided in a confidential manner.
And now with our current health crisis, many of our survivors are all alone living with limited income and support, isolating themselves to hopefully prevent getting ill.
Please consider a gift to the Nancy Dershaw Grant to support those Survivors who have been deemed eligible for this emergency aid.

Upcoming Digital Events
Zoom! Webinars! Social Distancing! Just a few months ago, these words were not part of our everyday vocabulary but, oh, how our world has changed! While we cannot yet plan to be together in person for our events, NEXT GENERATIONS is committed to bring you an outstanding line-up of programs, beginning in early SUMMER. All of these programs are DIGITAL EVENTS at NO COST to you. Please watch for the ANNOUNCEMENT with specific dates and times so that you can register in advance.
The line-up includes a three-part Yiddish Series with our very special Yiddish instructor,
Riva Ginsburg. Our literary expert, Greta Brewer, will be facilitating the book, Not Me, by Michael Lavigne. Other meet the author events include Keren Tolendano who wrote In Light of This & Other Things and Roslyn Franken who wrote Meant To Be: a true story of might, miracles and triumph of the human spirit. Additionally, we will be co-sponsoring a special program with Rales Jewish Family Services about mindfulness as the secret to effective self-care.
We are also looking forward to a series of workshops with Dr. Irit Felsen, beginning in July. Dr. Felsen, a renowned psychologist and expert on trauma, will be presenting workshops on issues of inherited trauma in Holocaust families. This series is co-sponsored by NEXT GENERATIONS and the Jewish Federations of North America, in partnership with the NOW for Holocaust Survivors Initiative at MorseLife Health System.
While all these programs will be available at no cost for participants, there will be required registration to participate.
As President of NEXT GENERATIONS, I want to extend my sincere hope that you all stay safe in these troubling times. It is more important than ever to be united, to share in a common cause, to care about each other and most importantly, to remember and learn from the past so we can look forward to a better future. We hope you will consider making a donation which would allow NEXT GENERATIONS to continue to deliver these worthwhile and enriching programs. Please click on the link below or visit our website
